The Boston chapter of Spanish Scientists in the USA (ECUSA, Españoles Científicos in the USA) is pleased to invite you to a special workshop, "How to Establish an Efficient Network and Stand Out", which will take place at Cambridge Innovation Center (1 Broadway, 5th Floor, Havana room, Cambridge, MA 02142) on Monday, March 16th, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This program has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Fundación Ramón Areces and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.
Our speaker is Lauren Celano, the Co-founder and CEO of Propel Careers, a life science search and career development firm focused on connecting talented individuals with entrepreneurial innovative life sciences companies.
In this workshop, Propel Careers will provide tips for how to network effectively to build your connections and develop meaningful relationships. Propel will provide tips to make a positive first impression, including the importance of an elevator pitch. Propel will provide advice for how to use opening lines to start conversations and how to navigate conversations. Propel will also cover how to work a room, strategies to meet people during an event, and the role that business cards and tools like LinkedIn play in networking. Lastly, Propel will provide advice for how to follow up after a great discussion including email etiquette, using LinkedIn, and other ways to keep the conversations going and the relationship growing. Following the talk, time will be allocated for Q&A to address additional topics.
